Got chicken tenders for a quick bite. The portion was generous, and it was served nice and hot. Would recommend. The chicken was tasty, and the price was quite reasonable.

New favorite fried chicken place!! This little spot is kind of in the middle of no where but their chicken is fresh and fried to perfection! I love the crisp skin and the tender chicken meat!!! You can tell their chicken is not frozen by the tenderness and flavor of the chicken My family and I got the whole chicken (8 pieces total) with fries, onion rings, and cole slaw. The chicken pieces are not huge but not too small either. The meal was just the right amount for us as we wanted to go somewhere for dessert after. The sides are not the greatest but not bad either. The fries are crinkled (the best kind) and the onion rings are beer battered (and perfectly fried) ! The staff is friendly and place is clean. I will definitely be coming back for their fried chicken!! Note: this is not a restaurant style place. You order and pick up your order and sit down

April 2025 Pleasantly surprised I really enjoyed this food. I don’t eat fried food very often and avoid seed oils as much as possible, but I was in a fried chicken mood and decided to give this place a try. I like the old school charm that takes you back 60 years, with a simple menu of burgers, fries, chicken, and other American staples of diners and drive-ins. We ordered a 4-piece fried chicken, cheeseburger, fries, and coleslaw. The cheeseburger was fair, the fries were ordinary, and the coleslaw was entirely too tangy, but the fried chicken was excellent. Extremely tender and juicy with great flavor and spice. Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was clean. Was a good visit overall.

Specks is a no frills self seat, counter order diner known for their broasted chicken. For those unfamiliar, this was a cooking style that was popularized in the latter half of the twentieth century which involves pressure frying food in special equipment. While its popularity has waned, the flavor is really great: it has the crispiness of regular frying but with extra juiciness and somewhat less oil. Specks seems to also brine their chicken which takes it up several notches relative to any other fried bird. Prices are very reasonable and you can order by the bird or piece. Also there are a wide variety of other menu items including tasty side dishes ranging from potato salad to fries and green beans. Strongly recommend you accompany the food with a shake: they have some unique and delicious flavors like birch beer and orange creamsicle.

This place is pure joy. If I had to describe what is America to someone, this is it. It is the ultimate drive in. The inside has only been updated as needed and kept true to its original roots. The chicken...this is what all cooked chicken aspires to be. When someone from another country asks me what is potato salad I’m going to give them this potato salad. Specks, never change.

Whoa! Walking into this place was like entering a time capsule. The chicken and sides were fresh and the interior of the restaurant looked awesome. Shout out to the front of house staff who asked who asked us how our meal was (amazing) and wished us a good day. I don’t really expect customer service like that these days so it kind of caught me off guard lol. We will be back again. Visited on 5/26/24 at 3:00 pm.

We stopped into Speck's for the first time recently. I have to say, this place is a blast from the past, in a good way! The chicken was delicious and definitely hit the spot. The cheese burger and onion rings were very good, too. I can't believe I've driven past this place for years and have never stopped in before now to try it. If you want some good chicken or other drive in style food, stop in and try something.
